Mammotion Maston: IdeaMower begins studying its future professional infrastructure
When a new generation of professional robotic mowers arrives, our work at IdeaMower starts with the real machine.
We recently had the opportunity to inspect Mammotion Maston, Mammotion’s new professional platform for autonomous maintenance of large areas.
Our first step was simple:
we started taking measurements.
Not simply to build a larger robotic mower garage.
Our goal is to understand what kind of infrastructure a professional machine of this scale actually requires.
Why measure Mammotion Maston?
The short answer is simple:
a professional infrastructure must be designed around the real dimensions of the machine.
But width, length and height are only the starting point.
We also need to understand access, manoeuvring space, charging, ventilation and service requirements.
That is why our work starts with the real robot.
We observe it.
We measure it.
We study how it enters, leaves and which parts must remain accessible.
Only then do we start designing.
Dimensions are only the beginning
The next stage will be even more important.
During the coming days of August, we will observe Maston during real operation.
We want to understand how the machine approaches its charging station.
How much manoeuvring space it requires.
How docking takes place.
What positioning tolerances are required.
How charging works.
How Maston leaves the station.
And how it automatically resumes its task.
Observe first. Design afterwards.
A shelter or docking station cannot be correctly designed using external dimensions alone.
The real behaviour of the machine must be understood.
We will therefore analyse:

manoeuvring space;

docking procedure;

positioning tolerances;

charging;
-
departure movements;
-
maintenance access;
-
ventilation;
-
operator intervention requirements;

behaviour in case of interruption or error.
Our development method will follow a clear sequence:
measure → observe → understand → design → test.
Maston may require more than a conventional mower garage
Mammotion Maston represents a major change of scale compared with residential robotic mowing.
It is a professional platform designed for large-area maintenance.
In applications such as large parks, sports facilities, industrial sites, hospitality areas, public green spaces and solar parks, a conventional mower garage may no longer be enough.
Protection may become part of a complete professional infrastructure.
What could a future IdeaMower Professional solution include?
It is still too early to define the final configuration.
But the key design areas are already clear.
A future infrastructure for Mammotion Maston could include:
protection from weather exposure;
docking designed around real entry and exit trajectories;
charging with proper organisation of spaces and connections;
ventilation without restricting machine cooling;
service access for maintenance and inspection;
energy management for professional installations;
security, especially in remote or publicly accessible locations;
connectivity and video surveillance when required by the application.
From a mower garage to professional infrastructure
With Maston, our goal is not simply to enlarge an existing product.
We want to understand what a machine designed to operate for many hours across large areas actually requires.
The project will therefore not be based only on measurements.
It will be based on real operating behaviour.
We do not want to design around Maston’s dimensions.
We want to design around the way Maston actually works.
These observations will guide the future IdeaMower Professional infrastructure for Mammotion Maston.
