Does Yarbo Need a Garage?
Yarbo is designed to work outdoors, but that does not mean additional protection has no value. It is a large, technologically advanced all-season yard robot equipped with cameras, sensors, electronics and an automatic charging system. During the many hours it spends parked, the robot and dock remain exposed to direct sunlight, rain, dust, leaves, bird droppings and other outdoor debris.
A properly designed garage adds a physical shield above the robot while preserving the open space, ventilation and access required for everyday operation. The goal is not to enclose Yarbo or make unrealistic promises about the weather. It is to create a better organized and more protected docking area for a valuable machine.
Compatibility note: The Möbius Garage is designed for Yarbo with the lawn mower module. It is not suitable for Yarbo with the Snow Blower / snow thrower module attached, because that configuration has different dimensions and operating requirements.
Outdoor-rated does not mean protection is unnecessary
Outdoor equipment is built to tolerate normal exposure. However, continuous exposure while the robot is idle is different from the exposure required while it is working. A roof can help reduce direct sun on external surfaces and provide an additional barrier against rain, falling leaves, dirt and bird droppings.
For owners who have invested in an advanced robotic platform, a dedicated shelter can also make the installation look more intentional and easier to access for inspection and cleaning.
What kind of garage is appropriate for Yarbo?
Yarbo should not simply be placed inside any enclosed shed or improvised box. Its positioning and navigation systems need suitable operating conditions, and the robot requires enough room to approach and leave the charging dock correctly.
A suitable Yarbo shelter should offer:
- an open front and open sides for natural ventilation;
- sufficient clearance for docking maneuvers;
- a roof designed with RTK/Vision operation in mind;
- independent anchoring that does not load or deform the charging station;
- access for cleaning, inspection and maintenance;

- dimensions verified for the applicable Yarbo configuration.
A dedicated garage instead of a generic cover
Many inexpensive robot mower shelters are made for small residential mowers. Yarbo is substantially larger and heavier, and its approach to the dock must remain unobstructed. Fabric tents and lightweight universal covers may offer shade, but they do not provide the same rigidity, appearance or long-term positioning as a dedicated structure.

Can I place Yarbo inside a closed shed?
A closed structure may restrict satellite visibility, ventilation or autonomous departure from the dock. Always maintain the clearances and installation conditions specified for the robot and charging station.
Will a transparent roof guarantee the RTK signal?
No structure can guarantee signal quality in every location. The Möbius roof is designed to support RTK/Vision use, but trees, buildings, walls and the position of the dock also affect reception.
